Speaking to L’Équipe, Toulouse midfielder Branco Van den Boomen (27) said that he believes that he is one of the best passers in the game.
The Dutch midfielder was pivotal in facilitating Toulouse’s promotion last season. In 37 Ligue 2 appearances, he registered an incredible 21 assists and scored 12 goals. This season, he already has four assists in 10 Ligue 1 games, although he is yet to find the back of the net.
Van den Boomen believes that his passing is his strongest attribute. “Everyone knows about my ability from set pieces, but passes at the right tempo and into the right zone are my biggest strength. In other areas, I’m perhaps not at the level of other players but in terms of passing, few are as good as me,” he said.
He continued, “With my teammates, we speak a lot about the movements that they should make so that I can find them. It’s about teamwork.”
