Another new record | LYC 20+MW wind turbine spindle bearing passed user acceptance

“This is another important milestone in our cooperation in the field of bearings and another new record. Let us applaud and congratulate the product for passing the acceptance and rolling off the production line smoothly!” On May 24, the 20+ MW wind turbine spindle bearing developed by LYC for the world's largest wind turbine manufacturer successfully passed the acceptance. The product will be shipped to the user site in the near future for offshore installation. The user's product acceptance team, LYC Group leader Wang Xinying and related personnel attended the acceptance meeting.

The bearing is mainly developed for a certain project's offshore wind turbine unit. The bearing adopts advanced technologies such as a three-convex structure design and an integral expansion-free cage. Since the project was launched in June 2023, the model has undergone fifteen optimization iterations. After many communications and discussions, the project technical team finally determined the bearing shape and internal parameters. During the product processing, in order to solve the problems of large outer diameter of the bearing, relatively thin wall thickness, and large heat treatment deformation, the project team conducted multiple tests and verifications before product processing, carried out heat treatment process research, ring and roller finishing and detection method research, etc., overcame the design of oversized single-row tapered roller bearings, thin-walled thick rings and oversized roller manufacturing problems, and made breakthroughs in bearing heat treatment and cage coating, ensuring the successful assembly of the product once. Finally, after on-site acceptance by the user, the overall accuracy of the bearing reached P5 level, and some accuracy reached P4 level.

At the acceptance meeting, Wang Xinying, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of LYC Group Company, expressed his gratitude to the user for his support for the development of LYC Bearing over the years. The user's product acceptance team congratulated the product on its successful acceptance and smooth roll-off; it is unanimous that the technical data of the product developed this time are better than the previous 16MW wind turbine main shaft bearing, which will once again elevate the cooperation between the two parties to a new level.
