Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Leicester City are in advanced talks to sign Brazilian forward Mateus Tetê (22), who is currently on loan at Olympique Lyonnais from Shakhtar Donetsk.
L’Équipe earlier reported that a deal to join Leicester’s Premier League rivals, Leeds United, was set to be completed. Goal journalist Marc Mechenoua then added that Tetê was in fact absent from Lyon training this morning ahead of a move to the Premier League club. It is believed that the Brazilian has reached an agreement to terminate his loan with Les Gones.
The French publication later added that an unnamed Brazilian club were looking to repatriate Tetê, however, contrary to reports from France, Romano now reports that the player is set to join Leicester and not Leeds. Discussions are now at the final stages. The Italian journalist dismissed reports that Tetê was set to join Leeds, adding that the Yorkshire club’s focus was on signing Weston McKennie from Juventus.
